Campus Initiatives

As a guest, it is easy to make smart environmental choices when you dine at a Sodexo café. We know today's college students want to do the right thing for the planet and we also understand you lead busy lives, so your Sodexo chefs and managers do a lot of the work for you behind the scenes!

From purchasing local seasonal produce whenever possible to reducing inorganic and organic waste, your campus team is dedicated to providing you with an exceptional dining experience that is good for you and good for the planet.

LeanPath

Reducing waste is very important. It results in less food waste in landfills where it emits methane which is 21x more powerful than CO2. The LeanPath kitchen waste tracking system records and tracks all of the food waste from our kitchen. This helps us to identify and change practices which result in food waste. By tracking waste we inform our staff and focus our efforts. On average, Campus Dining Services has experienced a 40% decrease in kitchen food waste when the LeanPath system is in place.

Bulk Condiments

Individual packets of condiments are useful in some instances, but they result in extra waste. If you are dining on site or you can add the sauce to your item before you leave, please use the bulk dispensers to reduce our waste

Green To-Go Initiative

Anyone wanting to eat a meal outside of the Dining Center (except for Late Night) will be required to use a Green To-Go box to do so. Dishes, cups, and silverware are not allowed outside of the Dining Center.

All residential students will be provided with a Green To-Go box/clip at the beginning of the school year, free of charge. Failure to return the box/clip at the end of the school year will result in a $10 fine.

Non-residential students may purchase a Green To-Go box for a $5 refundable deposit contingent upon returning the box in good condition.

Plasticware and disposable cups will be provided for those utilizing a Green To-Go box.

To-go meals must be consumed by the meal plan owner. Students are not allowed to feed other people from their meal plan.
